Alan Zane Huff, 64, of Portsmouth, died Friday, April 30, 2021, at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born January 11, 1957 in Fort Belvoir, VA, to the late Oliver and Violet (Kemp) Huff.
In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his grandson, Alex Wiley, mother-in-law, Freda Kielmar, and his brother-in-law, John Kielmar.
Alan was a retired Conductor for CSX Railroad, he loved to fish, and was an excellent lead guitar player. He played with many local bands through the years, and even won the Battle of the Bands multiple times in his youth.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Kielmar) Huff, four daughters; Christi Huff-Schultz of Greenfield, Julie Wiegers of Wheelersburg, Melissa Huff of Portsmouth, and Stephanie Boldman of Rosemount, two brothers, Dennis (Kathy) Huff of Cincinnati, and Bill (Chris) Huff of Indianapolis, a sister, Marie Duncan of Texas, and several step-siblings, nieces and nephews.
Alan, “Papaw” is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Andrew, Jess, Louie, Logan, Sarah, Ray, Catie, Lonnie, Natalie, Madison, Matthew, Morgan, and Mylie. In-laws; Louis Kielmar (father-in-law), Joan Meadows, Tim (Debbie) Kielmar, Tom (Moni) Kielmar, Sally (Rick) Singer, Barb (Pete) Hacker, and Cindy (Brent) Crumm.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M., until the time of service, at 6:00 P.M.
A Celebration of Life will be at Clay Township Building, in Rosemount, OH, following the services.
