Barabara Joyce (Hall) Conley Riggs

Barbara Joyce Conley-Riggs, 83, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the SOMC Hospice Center. She was born April 30, 1940, in Ashley, Ohio to the late John Wesley and Ila Faith (Freese) Hall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, a soulmate, Mitchell Conley and a daughter, Cathy Stover.

Barbara worked as a nurse's aide for many years, was a wonderful housewife, mother, and most of all, the best Granny to all. She spent most of her time cooking delicious meals and watching Gunsmoke.

She is survived by a sister, Francine Schofield of Mount Gilead, Ohio, seven nieces and nephews, a grandson and granddaughter, Dustin Stover and Jodie Stover, both of Portsmouth, eleven great-grandchildren including Ashton King, whom she raised as a daughter, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Wheelersburg Baptist Church Community Center. Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth is handling the arrangements.
