Barbara (Utley) Costello

Barbara Costello, 89, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Legacy Nursing Home in Chillicothe. She was born September 23, 1934 in Portsmouth, to the late Chapman and Alwena (Griebel) Utley.

Barbara wore many hats during her professional career from being a housewife and working for the F.B.I to finally retiring as a Realtor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kieran Costello, a daughter, Rosemary Ginn, and a brother, Chapman Utley.

Barabara is survived by a daughter, Christina Costello of Saudi Arabia, two grandchildren, William Carpenter (Dalana) and Crystal Carpenter (Amber), and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9:30 A.M. Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Greenlawn Cemetery with Father Peter Gideon officiating. Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth is handling the arrangements.
