Cassandra Ruth Holbrook

Cassandra Ruth Holbrook, 42, of Lucasville, died Saturday, November 13, 2021. She was born November 5, 1979 in Portsmouth to Ruth (Oakes) Marasek, and the late Robert Marasek.

Cassie loved the outdoors, she loved hiking, nature and animals.  She had a passion for helping others, not only through her work as a Linkage Care Specialist at Equitas, but also with food pantries and homeless shelters.

In addition to her mother Ruth, she is survived by her husband, Dustin Holbrook and two children; Rylee Holbrook and Kai Holbrook of Lucasville, brother, Matt Marasek (Kristen) of Portsmouth, mother-in-law, Cathy Holbrook, of Sciotoville, sister-in-law, Hannah Sturgill (Conner Wyatt), of West Chester, OH, brother-in-law, Zach Holbrook (Elizabeth), of Oak Hill, one nephew, Ethan Marasek, of Portsmouth, and two nieces; Madison Holsinger (Martin), of Mississippi, and Autumn Holbrook, of Oak Hill.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Friday, November 19, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral in Portsmouth.  Burial will follow at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harmony House, 627 4th Avenue, Huntington, WV  25701, an organization for helping the homeless.
