Charlene Ruth Rickards

Charlene Ruth Rickards, 68, of New Boston, died Friday, December 30, 2022, at her home.  She was born September 8, 1954, in Portsmouth to the late Leo Albert Williams and Hazel (Pratt) Osborn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Williams, two sisters Shirley Howard and America Williams, and a granddaughter, Ambertt Rickards.

Charlene is survived by a son, Josh Rickards (Christina), of New Boston, a daughter, Crystal Kennedy, of Portsmouth, three brothers: Doug Williams, of Indianapolis, IN., Dale Williams, of West Portsmouth, and Leo Williams, of Florida. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Mikey McGraw, Halie McGraw, Chase Rickards, Austin Rickards, and David Rickards, as well as three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2023, at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with John Howard officiating.  Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service on Friday.
