Charles Franklin Bair

Charles Franklin Bair, 79, of Piketon, died Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home. He was born September 24, 1942 in Carter County, KY to the late Sherman and Iva (Salyers) Bair.

He was a graduate of Valley High School, served in the United States Army and retired from USEC, having worked in the maintenance department.

Charles is survived by his wife, Shirley Bair, three daughters; Cammy Lowe (Dale) of Goldsboro, N.C., Mona Dixon (Scott) of Mt. Sterling, and Amy Daniel of Chillicothe, and a son, Aaron Bair (Amanda) of Piketon.

He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren; Kristina, Christopher, Devon, Addison, Taylor, Dalton, Quintin, A.J., Augie, Austin, Victoria, Jason, Jeremy, and Jaclyn, as well as five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Chad Bair Officiating. Burial will follow at Scioto Cemetery in Lucasville where military graveside burial rites will be performed by the American Legion, James Dickey Post #23.

A visitation for friends and family will be on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the beginning of service at 1:00 P.M.
