Christopher Lee McKinley, 44, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, March 28, 2024 at SOMC. He was born January 28, 1980 in Portsmouth, to the late, James E. Ferguson and Roxann (McKinley) Ferguson of Portsmouth. Chris was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1998, he loved to play cards and considered himself a gamer. He worked as a Laborer on cooling towers. Chris was such a fun-loving, energetic, and joyful person to be around. He enjoyed rooting for his favorite teams, Michigan Wolverines and the Pittsburgh Steelers, but his son C.J. was by far who he loved rooting for the most.
In addition to his mother Roxann, Chris is survived by his son, Christawn James (C.J.) McKinley of Portsmouth, two sisters, Amber and Alisha, the mother of his son, Kari Southworth McKinley, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and he is also survived by a special friend, Jolena Roe.
Memorial services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. A visitation for friends and family will be at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
