Connie Frances McClurg-Shelton, 61 of Cincinnati, died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Portsmouth. Connie was born May 20, 1961, in Portsmouth, to Viola (McFarland) McClurg and the late John D. McClurg.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack McClurg, and Ricky McClurg.
Connie worked over 20 years for the Sycamore Community School District as a Nutritionist Specialist. She was so loveable, pleasant, and upbeat, and dearly loved her family.
She is survived by her son, Ryan Shelton (Cheyenne), of Cincinnati, her daughter, Crystal Nickel (Jason Adkins), of Portsmouth, four brothers; John McClurg (Sandy), of Wheelersburg, James McClurg (Karen), David McClurg, and Mikki McClurg, all of Portsmouth, seven sisters; Shirley Wheatcraft, of Mansfield, Patty Morris, of Portsmouth, Sue Cameron, of Wheelersburg, Tammy Middleton, of West Portsmouth, Pamela Antonaros (Steve), of Franklin Furnace, Bobbi McClurg, of Portsmouth, and Emma McClurg, of Columbus. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Victoria (Alex), Ava, Heaven, Jessica, and a sister-in-law, Patty McClurg, of South Shore, KY.
Services are private and under the direction of Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
