Cora Ellen (Howard) Coburn, 97, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Portsmouth Health and Rehab in Portsmouth. She was born November 5, 1926 in Lucasville, to the late Andrew Howard and Minnie (Wheeler) Risner.
Cora was an elegant woman, who was private, but yet, was so sweet and kind. She loved hearing stories and seeing pictures of all the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward Coburn, a son, James Coburn, a great-great-grandchild, Arabella Marasek, and her five siblings, Walt, Jim, Toni, Mary, and Lorraine.
Cora is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Coburn of Portsmouth, two grandchildren, Mike Coburn (Tracey) of Lucasville, and Kelly Burich (Chris) of Powell, three great-grandchildren, Courtney Marasek (Eric) of McDermott, Hillary Billetter (Donald) of West Portsmouth, and Alex Burich of Powell, and five great-great-grandchildren, Remy, Paisley, Beckett, Zeke, and Ellie.
Graveside services will be private at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth is handling the arrangements.
