Darlene Ward (Cooper) Ferguson

Darlene (Cooper) Ward Ferguson, 85, of Flowery Branch, GA, formerly of West Portsmouth, died at her home Friday, October 28, 2022.  Darlene was born January 6, 1937, in West Portsmouth, to the late Alan Cooper and Ocie Myrtle (Newman) Cooper. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Ferguson, brother, Walter Cooper, and four other siblings.

Darlene is survived by two daughters, Brenda Hossman, of Flowery Branch, GA, and Paula Ward, of Clearwater, FL. as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Burial will follow at Rocky Fork Cemetery in Blue Creek.  A visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, and again on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 AM prior to the service.
