Delores (Bivens) Dixon

Delores MK Bivens Dixon 98, of Parsons, TN, died Sunday, February 2, 2025 . She was born December 28, 1926 in Quincy, KY, to the late James and Bessie (Arthur) Bivens. She was second to the youngest child born in a family of 13 children.

In addition to her parents, Delores is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Joseph R. Dixon in July 2017. They lived most of their lives together in Dayton, Ohio. She was an excellent mother, housekeeper, cook and seamstress. Both were devoted Christians, having dedicated their lives to Christ.

Delores is survived by her two children, Diana Montemayor (Richard) of Scotts Hill, TN and Terry Dixon (Lena) of Orange City, FL. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Shelley Goode, Kenneth Dixon (Sara), Kurtis Dixon (Crystal), Christine Dixon; 8 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor John Gowdy officiating. Burial will follow at Bivens Cemetery in Quincy, KY. A visitation for friends and relatives will be on Saturday, starting at 11:00 AM.
