Donald Gene Norris

Donald Gene Norris, 60, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, June 29, 2023, at SOMC. He was born September 3, 1962, in Georgetown, OH to the late Donald Gene Foreman and Kathryn Norris. Donnie was a self-employed handyman and cut grass for over 20 different yards every week in Portsmouth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marcella Davis and Mylinda Norris, two brothers, Charles Norris and Oscar Norris, and a great-niece, Aubrey Marie Spencer.

He is survived by three sisters, Teresa Lucas (Chuck), Shirley Noe-Kretzer, and Ann Marie Kretzer, a sister-in-law, Catherine Davis, theee brothers-in-law, Ronald Davis, Dennis Gillman, and Ronald Miller.

Donnie is also survived by his nephews, Pete Norris (Jamie), David Smith (Susan), Michael Smith (Angie), Ronnie Davis, Brandon Davis, and Bubby Lucas (Val), a niece, Christie Heinzman (Ronnie), along with several other nieces and nephews, and also great-nieces and great-nephews, Jeremiah, Nicholas, and Nicole Norris, Destiny Hibbard, Kimberly Smith (Mateo), Adilynn Figueroa, Rayleigh Jean Davis, Izabelle Marcella Smith, Matthew and Blake Heinzman, and Madison and Austin Lucas.

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Pastor Denny Dawes officiating. Burial will follow at Buford Cemetery in Fincastle, Highland County, Ohio. A visitation for friends and family will be on Friday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 A.M. until the start of the service at noon.
