Freddy Bowens

Freddy S. Bowens,79, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Portsmouth Health and Rehab. He was born September 10, 1943 in Portsmouth, to the late Albert Bowens and Blanche (Allgood) Davitz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Minnie Yazell, Jesse Wilfong Blevins, John Bowens, Virginia Bradford, Edna Mae Tombs, Bobby Bowens, Helen Hacker, Ronald Bowens, Albert Jr. Bowens, and Melford Bowens.

Freddy is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Shirley Plummer of Portsmouth, and many great-nieces and great-nephews, including April Buffington of Portsmouth, and he is also survived by his step-children, Kendra Ramirez and Ronnie Blevins, and their children.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
