Gary Lee Waddell

Gary Lee Waddell, 81, died Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at SOMC. He was born December 1, 1943, in Portsmouth.  He was the son of the late Earl Waddell and Goldie Penn Dane.  Gary and his late uncle, John (Johnny) Waddell, were both known in Portsmouth for building and repairing model train engines, despite the fact both had handicaps from birth.

Gary is survived by a brother, Anthony Dane, and several cousins. Arrangements are being taken care of by Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.

A private graveside service will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott with Reverend Roy Roach officiating.
