Gerald “Jerry” Andrew Fucci, 74, of Portsmouth, died Monday, January 11, 2021 at Mt. Carmel Hospital. He was born October 19, 1946 in Portsmouth to the late James V. Fucci and Genevieve (Zamer) Fucci.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James V. Fucci Jr., brother-in-law, Gary Callihan, and his mother and father-in-law, Charles and Waneta Pooler.
Jerry was a graduate of P.H.S., Class of 1965, served in the Navy, worked for the Scioto County Engineer’s office and was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, and was also a former member of Civic Forum, U.C.T., and American Legion, James Dickey Post #23.
He is survived by wife, Brenda (Pooler) Fucci, daughter, Jennifer (Greg) Schackart of Portsmouth, son, Brian (Jennifer) Stidham of Wheelersburg, sister, Bonnie Callihan of Cincinnati, four grandchildren; Andrew Schackart, Tyler (Julianna) Stidham, Chase Stidham, and Addison “Little Trojan” Stidham., as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in law; Beth (Mowery) Fucci, Jean (Butch) Yoakum, Kathy Blake, Tom Pooler, Bev (Mike) Hedrick, Frank Pooler, Karen Pooler, Joe (Sheryl) Pooler, a special cousin, Jean (Zamer) Slack of Seminole, FL, and special friends; Su Hall, Sister Marie Glennon, and all the “Card Players.”
Visitation will be 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM, Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. A Celebration of Life service will start at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
