Gerald "Jerry" F Cooper

Gerald “Jerry” F. Cooper, 88, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at SOMC. He was born September 30, 1935 in Pond Run, OH to the late Frank and Britain (Dillow) Cooper. Jerry was a retired Corrections Officer at S.O.C.F.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Phill, and a sister, Loretta Cunningham.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Hall) Cooper, a son, Gary Cooper (Rhonda) of Portsmouth, a daughter, Linda Kay Lawrence (Tim) of Portsmouth, two step-sons, Joseph Redoutey (Kim) of West Portsmouth and Richard Redoutey of Portsmouth, a brother, Paul Cooper (Kathy) of Louisiana, two sisters, Wanda Adams (Troy) of Rhode Island and Carolyn Newman of Waverly. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Services will be at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of Melcher Hammer Funeral Home
