Obituary

Jeffery A. Moore Sr, 66, of Rarden, died Friday, May 5, 2023. He was born February 24, 1957 in West Union to the late Ronald Moore and Fannie (George) Moore of West Portsmouth. 

He was a retired Corrections Officer at SOCF and enjoyed driving a truck after his retirement. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kim Emmons. 

Jeff is survived by his wife, Christina Montavon Moore, a son, Jeffery Moore Jr. (Amanda), two daughters, Ashley Benner (Rebel) and Sarah Moore, all of Rarden, his mother Fannie Moore of West Portsmouth. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Hayden, Noah, Zach. Daniel, Markus, and Damien. 

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Rev. Mike Queen and Rev. Carl Distel officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Pond Creek. 

A visitation for friends and family will be on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at noon. 

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the charity of your choice.
