Kari Ann (Southworth) McKinley

Kari Ann (Southworth) McKinley, 40, of Sciotoville, died Monday, December 30, 2024. She was born January 18, 1984 in Portsmouth, to the late Mark Southworth and Kimberly Bailey Southworth. Kari loved crafting and was great at painting, however, her greatest love was her son C.J..

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chris McKinley and her paternal grandfather, Ralph Southworth.

Kari is survived by her son, Christawn “C.J.” McKinley of Portsmouth, her mother, Kim Bailey Southworth (Rob Reid) of Sciotoville, two brothers, Jason Southworth (Mara) of Fredericksburg, VA and Aaron Southworth of Delaware, OH, her grandparents, Phyllis Morrow of Portsmouth, Lori Lacy of Midland, N.C., and Harley Bailey Jr. (Kim) of Portsmouth, two nephews, Ralph Southworth III and Michael Southworth, two nieces, Grace Southworth and Dorothy Southworth, her mother-in-law, Roxanne Ferguson, two uncles, Randy Southworth of Portsmouth and Robert Bailey (Shannen) of Mooresville, and her dog, Chicken.

A Memorial service will be 4:00 P.M. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Pastor Jared Klaiber officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be on Saturday, from 2:00 P.M. until the start of service at 4:00 P.M.
