Karla L. Cassidy, 70, of West Portsmouth, died Monday, October 25, 2021 at home. She was born July 22, 1951 in Winterset, Iowa to Charles L. Clark and the late Betty Jean (Loechen) Clark.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Cassidy, and her dog, Fritz.
Karla attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and enjoyed crocheting in her free time.
She is survived by sons; Jason Cassidy (Courtney) of Wadsworth, OH, Wesley Cassidy of West Portsmouth, daughters; Kelli Jo Kerr (John) of Lucasville, Cindi McGovern (Justin) of Minot, ND, brother, Ed Clark of IA, and sister, Robin Riley (Mike) of GA, six grandchildren; Sammi Jo, Karley, Colin, Scarlet, J.J. and Ryan, and 5 great-grandsons. She is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. She was especially close to Steve Cassidy and Maxine Cassidy, and family friend, Bob Stern.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, October 29, 2021 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Watikha officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home with the Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to SOMC Hospice.
