Kathryn Ann Brunner, 81, of New Boston, died Saturday, April 24, 2021 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born October 15, 1939 in Black Oak, Kentucky to the late Riley and Dolly (Faulkner) Chinn.
She was a Bookkeeper for Ohio Valley Propane for 28 years, she collected salt and pepper shakers, having obtained thousands, loved to bowl, and Kathryn loved to read Romance novels and work crosswords.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Gerald “Jug” Brunner, whom died on August 7, 1997, a son, Dennis Brunner, a great-grandson, Jerrod Brown, brothers; Herb, Johnny, Danny, and Virgil Chinn, and two sisters, Lois and Betty Chinn.
Kathryn is survived by three sons; Tim Brunner of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gregory Brunner of New Boston, and Scott Brunner (Sherri) of Rosemount, two daughters, Ann Scott (Rue) of Portsmouth, and Melinda Brunner of New Boston, a daughter-in-law, Sue Brunner of Otway, two brothers, Roy Chinn (Lou) of Black Oak, KY and Jimmy Chinn (Janie) of Black Oak, KY. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Randy Schintzius officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.
A visitation for friends and family will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home, and again one hour before the service on Wednesday.
