Linda Faye Potts, 72, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, July 11, 2021 at home, with her family by her side. She was born September 16, 1948 in Peebles to the late James and Minnie (Boanes) Yazell. Linda was a homemaker, a member of the Portsmouth Eagles, loved bowling and playing cards with her friends and family, and loved her family dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Shelby Potts, three sons; Scott Lane, Jeffrey Lane, and Johnny Osman, two brothers, Alva Yazell and Charles Fletcher, a sister, Norma Jean Fletcher, and four grandsons; Anthony Yazell, Timmy Allen Brown, Jonathan Kaveski, and Jeremiah Kaveski.
Linda is survived by four sons; Richard A. Lane of Portsmouth, Matt Lane (Amber) of Lucasville, Jerry Potts (Amber) of Portsmouth, and Austin Allard of Portsmouth, three daughters; Connie Cline of McDermott, Betty Frye (Terry) of Portsmouth, and Norma Carroll of Portsmouth, two brothers, Jess James (Martha) of Portsmouth and Stanley Yazell (Connie) of West Portsmouth, four sisters; Shirley Plummer of Portsmouth, Betty Grooms of Peebles, Mary Miller (Ora) of Sciotoville, and Kathy Sparks of South Shore, KY. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cousins that she loved.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Raymond Lewis officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday starting at noon.
