Maria Aurora Mylene R. Paz of Portsmouth, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 in her home at the age of 58 years. She was born on August 19, 1966 in Tarlac, Philippines to the late Benjamin and Esperanza (Ramos) Paz. Maria earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and worked as a Medical Biller at Southern Ohio Nephrology, Inc. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and church choir. She loved to cook, enjoyed reading and solving word puzzles.
Maria is survived by her sisters, Mary Banalagay (Ernesto) of Portsmouth, Rosemarie Cadaing (John Paul) of Tarlac, Philippines, and Caroline Arcilla (Eric) of Manila, Philippines; brothers, Benjamin Paz Jr. (Rosanna) of California and Benjamin Paz III (Salette) of Connecticut. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Rueben Banalagay, Elizabeth Nagengast (Darrin), Stefanie Paz, Benedict Paz, Paulene Cadaing, John Ross Cadaing, Alvaro Arcilla, Benjamin Augosto Paz, Benjamin Jose Francisco Paz, and a great-nephew, Leo Nagengast.
A Requiem Mass will be held at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Stephen Smith officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be on Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to Mass. Melcher Hammer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
