Mary Jo (Essman) Coriell

Mary Jo Coriell, 82, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Concord Health and Rehab in Wheelersburg. She was born June 29, 1941 in Portsmouth, to the late William and Mary Katherine (Moeller) Essman. 

Mary Jo is survived by her children, Richard “Rick” Coriell (Tonya) of Minford, John “Eddie” Coriell of Jackson, Kathy Neff of Marion, Debbie Traylor (John) of West Portsmouth, and Kelly Coriell-Kielmar (Richard) of Portsmouth, four sisters, Margie Brown and Kay Harrison, both of Texas and Susie May and Martha Froehlich, both of Georgia, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Father Michael Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemount Cemetery. A visitation for friends and family will be at the funeral home, one hour before the service on Tuesday.
