Mary Margaret Dillow, 97, of Portsmouth, died Monday, June 28, 2021. She was born October 7, 1923 in Berwind, WV to the late Robert McKinley Ramey and Naomi (Moore) Ramey.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Mick” Dillow whom she married on October 7, 1943 in Portsmouth. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Kanfer, and siblings; James C. Ramey, Jack A. Ramey, and Willa S. Ramey.
Margaret was a life-long member of Temple Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday school class and sang in the choir for many years. She dearly loved her church and her family. She had worked as a cashier for K & M Restaurant, and years earlier, she and Mick had both worked at Williams Shoe Factory.
Margaret is survived by two sons; Michael C. and Martha Dillow, of Las Vegas, NV., John P. and Linda (Staten) Dillow, of Clermont, FL., a son-in-law, Sheldon Kanfer, of Columbus, five grandchildren; Naomi Loomis, of Fl., John Tyler Neville, of Portsmouth, George Neville, of FL., Amy Zimmerman, of NC., and Andy Dillow, of KY., as well as five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace, OH with Pastor John Gowdy officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
