Michael William Crippen, 72, of Portsmouth, died Monday, June 14, 2021 at SOMC Hospice. He was born October 14, 1948 in Portsmouth, to the late Raymond and Mary Lucille (Krick) Crippen.
He was a Veteran of the United State Army, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and he loved to fish.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Patrick Crippen and a sister, Rebecca Christopher.
Michael is survived by a daughter, Michele Bunner (Robert Starcher) of Parkersburg, WV, a granddaughter, Tawny McNulty (Ryan), two great-grandchildren, Syreniti Merrill and Jensen McNulty, a sister, Sally Piatt of Portsmouth, a brother, Jeff Crippen (Joni) of Rosemount, a sister-in-law, Brenda Crippen of Lucasville, and several nieces and nephews.
Military graveside services will be provided by the American Legion, James Dickey Post #23 at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Rushtown Cemetery in McDermott with Rick Phillips officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662. Arrangements are under the direction of Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
