Phyllis Ann (Storey) Van Quill

Phyllis Ann (Storey) Van Quill, 87, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, February 20, 2025 at SOMC Hospice. She was born September 3, 1937 in Portsmouth, to the late Willard and Roberta (Sagar) Storey. Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper for different law firms throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Edward Van Quill, and her siblings, Nancy Adkins, John Storey, infant James Storey, Timothy Storey, Patrick Storey, Julie Bowles, Will Storey, Chief Robert Storey, and Rebecca Paul.

Phyllis is survived by her only sibling, her sister, Kim Storey of Martinsburg, W.V., three stepchildren, Eric Van Quill (Casey), Kurt Van Quill, and Valerie Van Quill, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 28, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with burial following at Greenlawn Cemetery. A visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. A Recitation of the Rosary will follow immediately at 7:00 PM.
