Quentin Lamont Hamrick, 44, of Portsmouth, died Friday, October 27, 2023. He was born July 25, 1979 in Portsmouth, to the late Roger Melvin and Gretta Hamrick.
Quentin loved music and his family, and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, C.T. and Bernice Hambrick and his paternal grandparents, Finnis B. and Isabell Melvin
He is survived by his three brothers, Demetrius Hamrick, Julius Hamrick, and Roger F. Melvin Jr., all of Portsmouth, a sister, Jennifer Hamrick (Joseph Lampkin) of Portsmouth, and his aunts, Gayle Greene (Larry) of Portsmouth, Edna Jean Harris of Durham, N.C., Wanda Hambrick (William Mitchell) of Chillicothe, and Desiree Reeves (Donald) of Portsmouth, an uncle, Stephen Hamrick (Charlotte) of St. Johns, IN, a great-aunt, Myra Forrester of Silver Springs, MD, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Bishop Harold Bell officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be on Saturday, from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 3:00 P.M.
