Roger Dale Evans

Roger D. Evans, 82, of Ironton, died Friday, June 21, 2024 at Harbor Healthcare in Ironton. He was born November 4, 1941 in Portsmouth, to the late John and Hazel (Patton) Evans.

Roger was a Radio Personality for decades in the tri-state area, having worked for WNXT, WSAZ, WGNT, WHEZ, and WIRO.

Roger is survived by his wife, Annette (Schwamberger) Evans, three daughters, Dr. Jennifer Marie Richards of Ironton, Julie Lynn Eyman of Millersport, and Stephanie Joy Barker of Ironton, one son, John Gregory Evans of Argillite, KY, and a sister, Pastor Joy Marie Bolander of Lake City, FL. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with his son-in-law, Robert Wayne Barker, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.  A visitation for friends and relatives will be on Tuesday, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M.
