Sandra Kay (Gee) Smith

Sandra Kay Smith, 68, of Portsmouth, died Friday, July 2, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Grant Hospital in Williamstown, Ky. She was born September 30, 1952 in Portsmouth to the late Emogene (Rice) Burton and her step-father, Roscoe Burton. She was a retired food service worker for Sodexo at Shawnee State University and a member of 7th Street Christian Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Smith, a sister, Katie Kreh, and two brothers, Russell Rice and Joe Gee.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, April Gilbert (Justin) of Ashland, KY, a sister, Carlene Shaffer (Jerry) of Portsmouth, two grandchildren, Emilea Colley and Joshua Wilburn. She also leaves behind a special cousin, Becky Conshafsky (Jerry) and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastors Lisa Crawford and Aaron Lore officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. A visitation for friends and family will be on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M.
