Sharon Kay (Brunner) Bramblett

Sharon Kay Bramblette, 76, of Miami Shores, FL, formerly of Portsmouth, died October 3, 2022.  She was born July 24, 1946, in Portsmouth to the late William James Devlin and Sara (Brunner) Devlin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Bramblette II, daughter, Cheryl Bramblette, brothers, William J. Devlin, and Patrick Devlin, a sister, Sara Belcher, and three infant brothers, William T. Devlin, Joseph T. Devlin, and David A. Devlin.

Sharon was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Shawnee State University, where she earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration and an Associate Degree in Nursing, a degree she pursued after being by Cheryl’s side during a two-year battle with Aplastic Anemia. She proudly spent her career as a Registered Nurse at SOMC, retiring in 2014. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Portsmouth, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, and the National Nurses Association.

Surviving are her children, a son, William A. Bramblette III (Tresia) of Pleasantville, OH, daughters, Patricia Ginn (Scott) of Rosemount, OH, Barbara Coleman (Marcus Cole) of Hope Mills, NC, Sarah Bramblette (Anthony Laraque) of Miami Shores, FL, brother, Edward Devlin (Kim) of Idaho Springs, CO, and two sisters, Barbara Knight of Wellington, FL, and Judith Phipps of Danville, IN, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She also enjoyed taking road trips, whether it be a quick weekend drive to see the changing colors of the trees, a scenic jaunt up the California coast with her sisters, or a cross-country adventure with her grandchildren, she racked up as many memories as she did miles.

Visitation for family and friends will be 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth with a service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cheryl Bramblette Memorial Scholarship at Shawnee State University.
