Shirley Jean Dickess, 64, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born May 16, 1957 in Portsmouth to the late Elmer James Jordan and Madeline Catherine (Lykins) Jordan.
Shirley was an LPN and was loved dearly by her patients. She was a devout member of Rubyville Community Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, William “Sonny” Jordan, her sister, Judy Ann Queen.
Shirley is survived by two sons, Kenny Dickess of Portsmouth and Mike Lauder (Misty) of Wheelersburg, a daughter, Tricia Lauder of Waverly, four grandchildren; Donovan Adkins, Caleb Adkins, Adam (Jessica) Lauder, Mikey Lauder, three great-grandchildren; Haylee, Arielle, and David. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Rawlins (David) of Portsmouth, and three nieces and nephews; Timothy R. Sparks II, Megan Sparks, Missy Thuma.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, June 4, 2021 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Pastor Calvin Ray Evans and Pastor Brian Baer officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. A visitation for friends and family will be on Friday at the funeral home, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
