Susan C. Frasher, of Lucasville passed away peacefully Tuesday November 21, 2023 at SOMC Hospice.
She was a retired teacher, lover of horses & a proud member of her beloved American Legion Post 23. She proudly served in the United States Army as a weapons instructor during the Korean War era. She also served as the first female Commander of her legion post & was part of the funeral detail.
She is survived by her 5 children Scott Frasher of Hollywood, MD, Leslie Yeisley of Dallas, TX, Jillian McNary of Denver, CO, Melanie Overmyer of Austin, TX & Laura Kinney of Columbus, OH along with 8 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren.
Everyone who knew Susan loved her. She had a heart of pure gold & will be greatly missed by so many.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Peter Gideon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth, where graveside military rites will proudly be provided by Susan’s Honor Guard Detail, American Legion, James Dickey Post #23. Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth is handling the arrangements.
