William Lee Rodgers, 76, of Lucasville, died, Friday, November 10, 2023 at SOMC. He was born April 25, 1947, in Portsmouth, to the late James and Clara Rodgers.
Bill was a 1966 graduate of Portsmouth High School, where excelled in several sports. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds fan, loved to play cards, and was a member of the New Boston Eagles.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamara Rodgers, two brothers, Tom and Donald Rodgers, a granddaughter, Ashley Rodgers, and daughter-in-law, Rachael Rodgers.
Bill is survived by his wife, Linda Hood, four sons; Keith Rodgers, James Rodgers (Vicki), William Rodgers (Polly), and a great-grandson that he raised as a son, Hunter, two daughters, Tonia Willis and Billie Galloway (Buck), a brother, Charlie Rodgers (Jane), two sisters, Patricia Bertram and Betty Day, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Pastor Mike Gifford officiating. A visitation for friends and family will be on Tuesday, from 4:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 6:00 P.M.
